Explaining our contract options
At all our senior living campuses, we offer a continuum of care. This means you’ll find a range of living levels and care options all on one campus. We also provide you with different types of contracts, giving you financial flexibility and choices in how to pay for any case you need.
Lifecare Community
When we refer to a Lifecare Community, we’re talking about our campuses that offer a range of contract options. All contracts require a one-time entrance fee followed by a monthly fee, and they all include the same guaranteed access to a full continuum of care. Certain contract options include Lifecare, an insurance-like contract that incorporates projected costs of care into the fee structure. The other contract options offer a fee-for-service financial structure.
Our Lifecare Communities include Goodwin House Alexandria, Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads and Goodwin House Seminary Road.
Rental Community
When we refer to a Rental Community, we’re talking about our campuses that offer one simple, no-commitment contract. There is no entrance fee, only monthly fees. And the monthly fees are based on the level of care you opt to receive.
Our Rental Communities include The View Alexandria and Forest Hills of D.C. Both offer the same best-in-class amenities found at our Lifecare Communities. The difference is how you pay.

Five ways to plan for peace of mind
We know that care needs and financial circumstances vary. That’s why we offer five contract options — each designed to provide access to all levels of living and protect your future. All plans come with guaranteed access to care and support should your financial resources change through no fault of your own. All five plans might not be available, so please talk to our Goodwin Living sales team for details.
Standard Lifecare Plan
A predictable approach to care costs. Your monthly fee stays the same, even if you move to Assisted Living or Nursing Care through our Health Care Center.
Modified Lifecare Plan
Offers a lower entrance fee, with slightly higher monthly fees that still remain stable across care levels.
50% Refundable Lifecare Plan
Enjoy the same care benefits as our Standard plan, with a 50% refund to your estate.
Long-Term Care Insurance Plan
Designed for those with LTC insurance, this plan provides limited coverage for care needs.
90% Refundable Plan
A fee-for-service model that ensures a high level of refundability and flexibility in care payments.
